Mega Bank provides loan facility to rickshaw drivers by keeping rickshaw as collateral
KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, MARCH 30, 2021 – Mega Bank Nepal Limited has purchased auto rickshaws and brought special facilities for self-driving drivers.
Mega Bank and Hansraj Hulaschand & Company have entered into an agreement to purchase three-wheeled auto rickshaws and provide loans to the drivers who operate the rickshaws on their own.
The agreement was signed by Anupama Khunjeli, Chief Executive Officer of Mega Bank and Abhimanyu Golchha, Director of Hansraj Hulaschand & Company Private Limited.
According to the bank, the agreement was signed to make poor and low-income rickshaw pullers entrepreneurs.
The bank has stated that rickshaw drivers should purchase three-wheeled auto rickshaws and operate them themselves. The bank says that the same rickshaw can be pledged for that.
Khunjeli, CEO of Mega Bank, said that many low-income people who want to earn money by buying auto rickshaws will be provided loans from branch offices across the country at affordable interest rates.
The bank has stated that the loan will be provided to the drivers who want to purchase and operate auto rickshaws subject to the poor class loan guideline of Nepal Rastra Bank and simple loan and concessional interest subsidy loan procedure of the bank.
