KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, MARCH 30, 2021 – The closing ceremony of the second edition of Skill Week 2021 was held on Monday at Soaltee Crowne Plaza. The program was concluded with a grand gathering in the presence of entrepreneurs, government diplomats and 100 interested enthusiasts.

Skill Week was a week-long program, in which various skill-based trainings, including skill-based workshops, trainings, case studies, and entertainment, were tried to present skills from different dimensions.

The Skill Week program was conducted from March 21 to March 29 with the aim of highlighting the importance of SIP based employment opportunities, growing skills, trade, service, modern technology, arts and culture from all three sectors in partnership with factories, educational institutions and government agencies. Was This year’s Skill Week program concluded with the slogan ‘Siple Samman Sipko Samman’ with the goal of developing skills.

The program showcased four different skill areas, including arts and culture, entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality, science and technology.

Meanwhile, four very inspiring personalities in these four categories were awarded the title of ‘Nabil Skill Hero Award 2021’. The Skill Week and Nabil Skill Hero Awards 2021 was conducted in the presence of Mr. Sonam Wangchuk, an educational reformer and visionary, as a keynote speaker at the closing ceremony. Based on his own life, his theory of education is attractively portrayed in a Bollywood film, 3 Idiots.

For the first column, namely Tourism and Hospitality, Gagan Pradhan, Director and MD of Himalayan Java, was honored as a Nabil Skill Hero as he is an influential figure who made a name for himself in the coffee industry and played a key role in establishing coffee. Similarly, the Folk Musical Family, committed to the research, preservation and celebration of the diversity of Nepali music, was honored for its contribution to the field of art and culture.

Shanti Chadha, Founder President of Nepal Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal was honored in the Entrepreneurship category. Chadha has influenced thousands of women and families through her personal efforts, business and relationships with various organizations through skill development and economic empowerment initiatives.

For Science and Technology, the factory’s co-founder and CEO, Pabitra Gautam, was honored for his efforts to create a curriculum that connects real life and classroom with science and technology using creator-based education to create critical curricula and effective education for the 21st century.

Aiming at the closing ceremony, a grand program called CEO Unplugged 2021 was conducted in which two panel discussions were conducted to provide guidance to the business connoisseurs on the challenges, opportunities and importance of practical education.

The program was conducted in partnership with Nabil Bank. Powered Partner CG Pay, Strategic Partner: Embassy of India, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry Airlines and Nepal Airlines, Nepal Ice Entertainment are partners.

Collaborated with various organizations to conduct workshops, competitions, case studies, and internships / small employment fairs.
