1 million insurance payment by NIC Asia Bank
KATHMANDU: MONDAY, MARCH 29, 2021 – NIC Asia Bank has paid Rs 1 million for the treatment of a fatal disease under the New Premium Super Miraculous Savings Account Scheme. Aarti Manandhar, 50, of Panipokhari, Kathmandu, who opened a new premium super miraculous savings ‘Gold Category’ account at the bank’s Dilli Bazaar branch, was paid the amount for treatment of a deadly disease, the bank said.
The bank said that the insurance amount was paid to the account holder in collaboration with NECO Insurance with the objective of providing insurance facility to the account holder along with savings.
At present, the bank has been providing insurance facility to the customers of New Premium Super Miraculous Savings Account ‘Diamond Category’ to provide them with the financial resources they need for the future. The savings plan includes Rs 1 million for the treatment of 18 different fatal diseases, Rs 1 million for the person or family who was completely injured or killed in the accident and Rs 1 million for hospital expenses for medical examination (Rs 80,000 for hospitalization and Rs 20,000 for outpatient treatment). The bank has stated that the facility will be available.
Under the deposit scheme including insurance, more than 426 customers across the country have received more than Rs 26.6 million in insurance, the bank said. The savings scheme with this type of insurance has given more incentives and motivation to the general public to save, the bank said.
