Action for carrying more load than capacity
KATHMANDU: The Department of Transportation Management has decided to drop the goods at the concerned places and impose fines if the vehicles are found to be carrying more load than prescribed from Chaith 15.
The department has stated that it is regulating the cargo vehicles and taking action if any mistake is found as per the provisions of the directive on regulation of cargo vehicles, 2074 BS.
Spokesperson of the department, Dr. Loknath Bhusal, said that the department has been complaining that the cargo vehicles have to carry the load as per the criteria prescribed in the directive.
The department has already constructed tow bridges in Aptari of Chitwan and Bardibas of Mahottari.
The department has an action plan to regulate and control the load of vehicles by constructing weight bridges on the main roads for road safety.
