Microbus crash: One more killed

KATHMANDU: Another died on the Karnali Highway in a road accident today. The death toll has reached two.

The deceased have been identified as Jitendra Bahadur Shahi, 37, of Kalikot and Kamal BK, 21, of Narharinath, according to the District Police Office, Dailekh.

Three policemen have also been injured in the accident. Among them, Ramesh Chaudhary’s condition is critical, said Dailekh Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupam Shrestha.

“Among the 21 passengers two of them have died,” he said. The condition of 11 sent to Surkhet, two passengers condition is critical. Three people are undergoing treatment at a local medical center.

A microbus has met with an accident at Tuikuna in Dailekh Road section of the highway. According to the District Police Office, Dailekh, a microbus numbered 02001 Kha 247 of Karnali left for Surkhet from Kalikot.

The microbus fell 100 meters from the highway uncontrollably while speeding. The microbus was carrying 21 passengers from Kalikot.
