There will be a half marathon in Kisunji’s name
Kathmandu. A women’s and men’s half marathon will be held in the name of former prime minister and Nepali Congress founder Krishna Prasad Bhattarai (Kisunji).
Nepal Democratic Sports Association, Bagmati Pradesh, is scheduled to hold the first Kisunji Memorial National Women’s and Men’s Open Half Marathon on Chaitra 22.
At a press conference held on Wednesday, Deepak Gurung, state coordinator and central member of the association, said that the competition was being organized commemorating Kisunji’s contribution in the field of Nepali politics and Nepali sports.
The top three players who win the competition, which is estimated to cost around Rs 900,000, will get cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000. Similarly, the fourth and fifth place players will get a cash prize of Rs 5,000 each.
Competition Kathmandu Region No. 4 started from the basketball court at Golfutar, Dhumbarahi Chowk, Chabahil, Gaushala, Ratopul, Gyaneshwar, Kamalpokhari, Jaynepal Hall, Durbar Marg, Keshar Mahal, Lainchaur, Lazimpat, Panipokhari, Narayangopal Chowk and Budhanilkantha Police Beat, it will end by reaching the basketball court again.
