Civil Bank launches cashless campaign through QR code
Kathmandu. Civil Bank has launched a cashless campaign with the slogan “Civil Bank for Prosperity”. The bank has launched the campaign amid a program organized at Sindhuli Madi in Sindhuli. Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari has launched the campaign by paying the rent of Tampa, offerings at Kamalamai temple and purchase price of Sweet Orange through QR code.
On behalf of the program bank, Governor Adhikari has distributed QR codes to 74 Autos (three wheelers) and 34 traders operating in Sindhuli area.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Adhikari said that the cashless campaign was essential not only to protect oneself from the current epidemic of Corona but also to save money on printing and foreign exchange and to assimilate the campaign called bank account of all Nepalis. He said that the QR code should be made ubiquitous to make the cashless campaign effective.
Sunil Kumar Pokhrel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Civil Bank, clarified about the effectiveness of QR code technology. The bank has been encouraging its customers to use various types of cashless payment services through electronic system using QR codes, said Govinda Gurung, chief executive officer of the bank.
