KATHMANDU: Two Nepali citizens, Jayprakash Sah from Rautahat and Sandesh KC from Baglung, who were held near the Ukraine border, have been rescued and are set to return to Nepal this afternoon.

The operation was coordinated by the Nepali Embassy in Berlin and supported by the Ukrainian Border Security Service and the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Germany.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that violating local laws while abroad can lead to detention, extended imprisonment, and even life-threatening risks.

The ministry urged all Nepalis traveling abroad to strictly adhere to local immigration and other laws and warned that rescue operations for detained citizens can be complicated.

Nepalis were also advised to stay cautious against temptations or misleading offers that could lead to legal trouble.
