KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ hosted a luncheon to honor Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, who is currently on a two-day state visit to Nepal.

The luncheon, held at Dwarika Hotel this morning, was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Dahal, who extended his greetings to the Qatari Emir.

Dignitaries from both nations graced the event with their presence.

Earlier in the day, a bilateral delegation-level discussion took place between the two leaders at Soaltee Hotel.

During this meeting, bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed on six different issues.

Emir Al Thani of Qatar arrived on the afternoon of April 23 at the invitation of President Ram Chandra Paudel. The Qatari Emir had a meeting with President Paudel at Sheetal Niwas on Tuesday.

President Paudel organized a state banquet in his honor that evening.

This is the first high-level visit to Nepal from Middle East Asia.
