Pakistan celebrated 84th Republic Day

KATHMANDU: Pakistan celebrated its 84th Pakistan Day on Saturday, commemorating the Lahore Resolution or Republic Day

Each year, March 23 is observed in Lahore to honor this historic occasion.

The day commenced with a 31-gun salute in the capital, Islamabad, and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals.

In Islamabad, a military parade was held at the Shakarparian Parade Avenue, attended by the President, Prime Minister, top military officials, and Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

National flags were hoisted at all major government buildings, while various rallies and seminars were organized nationwide to highlight the significance of the Lahore Resolution in Pakistan’s formation.
