NEW DELHI: Two paramilitary troops of the Central Reserve Police Force were killed and two others injured in a militant attack Saturday in India’s northeastern state of Manipur, police said.
The attack was carried out at a stationed camp in Moirang area of Bishnupur district, about 45 km south of Imphal, the capital city of Manipur.
According to police, the incident, involving gunshots and grenade attack, lasted for over two hours.
Following the attack, authorities rushed reinforcements to the area to track down the militants.
