Youth killed in Itahari protest identified

KATHMANDU: The identity of one of the two youths killed in police firing during the Gen Z protest in Itahari has been confirmed.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Abhishek Shrestha from Itahari-16, confirmed Police Inspector Prakash Parajuli of the Sunsari District Police Office.

Shrestha’s body has been kept at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) morgue.

The identity of the second victim is yet to be confirmed.

Both youths were brought to BPKIHS in Dharan after being shot by police, where doctors declared them dead.
