Xtreme Energy Drink pledges Rs 500,000 for treatment of Sabitra Bhandari

KATHMANDU: Xtreme Energy Drink has announced financial support of Rs 500,000 to assist with the medical treatment of Nepal women’s national football team captain Sabitra Bhandari, widely known as “Samba.”

Currently contracted with a club in New Zealand, Bhandari sustained a serious knee injury while playing in the A-League Women.

She is now preparing to undergo treatment for the injury.

In a statement, the company said it decided to provide financial assistance to support a player who has consistently delivered outstanding performances for the nation.

Xtreme Energy Drink emphasized that standing by national athletes during difficult times is its responsibility and that the contribution aims to help with her treatment and recovery so she can return to the field.

The company also wished Bhandari a speedy recovery, expressing confidence that she will soon regain full fitness and proudly wear the national team jersey once again.

Earlier, Bhandari had appealed to fans and well-wishers for support, stating that she felt neglected by the leadership of All Nepal Football Association in terms of medical assistance.
