KATHMANDU: Nepal are taking on strong contenders the Netherlands in their second match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Wednesday.

After winning the toss, Netherlands captain Babette de Leede opted to bat first, sending Nepal into the field.

The match is a must-win encounter for Nepal, who are looking to bounce back after suffering a defeat against Thailand in their opening game.

Playing at home, the Nepali side will be hoping to capitalize on familiar conditions and strong crowd support to register their first victory of the tournament.

In contrast, the visiting Dutch team have entered the contest with high confidence, having already defeated Zimbabwe and Scotland, underlining their status as one of the strongest teams in the qualifier.

Nepal have shown faith in continuity, retaining the same playing XI that featured against Thailand. Led by captain Indu Barma, the team presents a balanced mix of experienced campaigners and emerging talent.

Nepal Playing XI:
Indu Barma (Captain), Sita Rana Magar, Rubina Chhetri, Pooja Mahato, Samjhana Khadka, Bindu Rawal, Kabita Kunwar, Riya Sharma, Somu Bista, Kajal Shrestha (Wicketkeeper) and Kabita Joshi.
