Western & local winds bring cloudy weather & rain risk across Nepal
According to the forecast, the impact of these wind systems led to heavy rainfall in some districts on Wednesday.
KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that western and local wind systems are currently influencing Nepal’s weather conditions, resulting in partly to generally cloudy skies across hilly and Himalayan regions, while most Terai areas remain mainly clear.
According to the forecast, the impact of these wind systems led to heavy rainfall in some districts on Wednesday.
During the daytime today, generally cloudy conditions are expected over the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Meanwhile, the Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with other remaining provinces’ hilly and mountainous areas, will experience partly cloudy conditions.
Most of the remaining Terai belt is likely to stay mainly clear.
The department has also forecast a chance of light to moderate rainfall or snowfall in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Madhesh, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
Additionally, isolated areas in the Terai region of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may also witness similar conditions.
Hot daytime conditions are expected in the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
For tonight, generally cloudy weather will persist over the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Partly cloudy conditions are expected in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki’s Terai regions as well as in the remaining provinces’ hilly areas, while most of the remaining Terai region will remain mainly clear.
There is also a possibility of light to moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two locations in Madhesh Province, according to the department.
