Vianet pledges Rs 5 lakh to aid star striker Samba’s recovery
Recognizing both the physical and financial challenges of this long recovery, Vianet has stepped forward to support their brand ambassador.
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s national women’s football team star striker, Sabitra Bhandari (Samba), is currently facing the toughest phase of her career.
Following a severe knee injury that has kept her off the field, internet service provider Vianet Communications has announced financial support of Rs 500,000 to assist with her treatment and facilitate her comeback.
Samba, renowned for her relentless dedication and for bringing pride to the nation through her performances, is now undergoing surgery followed by an intensive rehabilitation process expected to last around eight months.
Recognizing both the physical and financial challenges of this long recovery, Vianet has stepped forward to support their brand ambassador.
Highlighting Samba’s indomitable spirit—summed up in her words, “I am tired, not defeated”—Vianet pledged to stand by her through every step of her recovery.
The company expressed confidence that Samba will soon return fully fit to the field and continue shining on behalf of Nepal.
Vianet’s gesture not only demonstrates deep human concern for their ambassador but also sends a positive message to the sports community: in any adversity, maintaining strong, reliable connections with stakeholders is key.
