KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist Party)’s meeting to select candidates for the upcoming National Assembly elections today has been postponed.

Since preparations for the meeting called at the party central office have not been completed, the secretariat meeting has been postponed to be held tomorrow.

According to Deputy General Secretary and Head of the Publicity Department Jagnnath Khatiwada, the selection of candidates will be based on their contributions to party organization building, dedication to the respective field at the grassroots level, and popularity and capability, as well as considering the potential leaders who have not yet had the opportunity.

After finalizing the list of candidates for the National Assembly, discussions will take place regarding constitutional amendments in a meeting.
