Unidentified body discovered at Kathmandu Bus Park
Police said the identity of the deceased has yet to be confirmed.
KATHMANDU: A body was discovered inside a discarded bag near the main gate of Kathmandu’s New Bus Park on Saturday.
According to the Maharajgunj Metropolitan Police Circle, locals alerted police after noticing the suspicious bag.
When officers inspected and opened it, they found the body of an unidentified individual inside.
Police said the identity of the deceased has yet to be confirmed.
The area has been sealed off, and forensic examination along with preliminary investigation has begun.
Authorities stated that it is difficult to determine how long the body had been at the site.
CCTV footage from buses and surrounding areas is being collected, and police claim the individuals involved in the incident will be identified soon.
Meanwhile, locals have expressed growing concerns over rising insecurity in the New Bus Park area and have called for stricter safety measures.
