UML orders cadres to go door-to-door
According to Min Bahadur Shahi, chief of the party’s publicity department, the UML has mobilized 662,000 organized members to personally meet voters as part of its election campaign.
KATHMANDU: As Nepal’s parliamentary elections draw closer, the CPN-UML has instructed its organized party members to engage in direct, face-to-face outreach with voters across the country.
According to Min Bahadur Shahi, chief of the party’s publicity department, the UML has mobilized 662,000 organized members to personally meet voters as part of its election campaign.
Shahi said the party has emphasized in-person engagement over virtual campaigning, urging candidates and party workers to promote the achievements of the government formed under the party’s leadership and seek votes directly from the public.
“All organized members across different geographical areas have been instructed to actively participate in door-to-door campaigning by meeting voters in person,” Shahi said. “Wherever the members are based, they have been told to approach voters in their respective localities and ask for their support.”
Departing from large-scale election rallies, the UML is prioritizing grassroots-level, face-to-face interactions with voters and has launched a people-centric election campaign focused on personal outreach rather than mass gatherings.
