Ukraine affirms support for GCC states against Iranian attacks

RIYADH: Ukraine affirmed its support for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states against Iranian attacks, stressing the need for an immediate halt to Iranian military actions against GCC countries and a cessation of all forms of escalation.

This came during a phone call received Monday by Secretary General of the GCC Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi from Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha.

The Secretary General commended Ukraine’s efforts in sponsoring and supporting the historic UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemned the Iranian attacks on GCC states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The call also discussed ways to strengthen GCC-Ukrainian relations in a manner that serves common interests.
