Two dead as student bus hits motorcycle
Four others were injured in the accident.
KATHMANDU: Two people have died in a bus accident that occurred in Malika Rural Municipality of Gulmi this morning.
A bus from Siddh English Boarding School, bearing registration number Lu PR 01-00 K 0355 and carrying students for a picnic from Ramche to Purkot in Madane Rural Municipality, collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, registered Lu 9 P 8150.
The collision killed 36-year-old Basanta Aryal and his sister-in-law, 56-year-old Mankala Aryal, both residents of Malika-6, Mauwa, according to Gangabahadur Saru, spokesperson of the district police office.
Four others were injured in the accident. Two of the injured were brought to Gulmi Hospital, Tamghas, where doctors declared them dead.
Among the injured are Mankala’s six-year-old grandson, Anubhav Giri, and Lilawati Aryal, a 41-year-old teacher at Jamarpokhara Secondary School, Ramche-6.
Anubhav Giri has been referred to a hospital in Palpa for further treatment, while teacher Lilawati Aryal continues to receive care at Gulmi Hospital, police said.
