KATHMANDU: In a significant move to break the prolonged political stalemate and restore dialogue, top leaders of Nepal’s three major political parties are holding a high-level meeting today.

The meeting, initiated by Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, brings together Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Set to take place at 2:00 PM at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, the meeting is seen as a key attempt to bridge widening political rifts and rebuild trust on pressing national issues.

According to Dipendra Dahal from the Prime Minister’s personal secretariat, the discussion will center on major contemporary matters, including the ongoing parliamentary obstruction, the transitional justice bill, the Constitutional Council Act, and other critical national concerns.

The meeting carries high political significance amid rising tension and lack of coordination among the major parties, with hopes that it may pave the way for consensus and cooperation.
