Tarkeshwar Ward Chair dies at 44

KATHMANDU: Narayan Prasad Rimal, Chairperson of Ward No. 6 of Tarkeshwar Rural Municipality in Nuwakot, passed away this morning at the age of 44.

According to family sources, he died during treatment at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu after his health deteriorated due to fever and pneumonia.

Rimal had undergone gallstone surgery in mid-May and had been undergoing regular check-ups since then.

Over the past week, his condition worsened due to persistent fever and pneumonia.

A secretariat member of the CPN (UML) Nuwakot, Rimal was previously elected as a ward member in the 2074 local elections.

In honor of his passing, Tarkeshwar Rural Municipality has declared a day of mourning and announced a public holiday today. Issuing a condolence statement, Rural Municipality Chair Shiv Adhikari (Aviral) declared today as a “Day of Mourning in Tarkeshwar,” with offices under the municipality, ward offices, and public service bodies closed. The national flag has also been lowered to half-mast in tribute.
