KATHMANDU: Aiming to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, the ‘Sunway Startup & Idea Fest 2025’ will be held in Kathmandu from Thursday, Kartik 27 (Nov 13).
The two-day event, organized at Anupam Foodland in Battisputali, will bring together over 150 startups and innovators from across the country.

The fest is a joint initiative of Living with ICT, ICT Foundation Nepal, and Squad of Changemakers, and will feature a wide-ranging exhibition of products and services related to software, robotics, drones, AI technology, rockets, and aerospace.

Organizers say the event will highlight Nepal’s technological progress and showcase the creative potential of the country’s youth.
In addition to exhibitions, the fest will host drone and robotics competitions and a job fair, providing visitors both entertainment and insights into employment opportunities.

More than 50 semi-finalists of the ICT Award 2025, including startups, products, rising stars, and social innovations, will also present their creations, with visitors having the chance to directly observe and vote on the showcased innovations.
According to the organizers, the fest is intended to promote young startups, students, and innovators working in Nepal and to support the growth of entrepreneurship. Entry will be free, giving young people an opportunity to explore creative technologies and innovations firsthand.
The event will also include product demos and networking sessions for investors interested in supporting startups, facilitating connections that could help expand their businesses.

The organizers expect a strong turnout from entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, policymakers, high-ranking officials, investors, and students.
They believe the fest will serve as a valuable platform for understanding the current state of Nepal’s startup and innovation sector and the types of technologies being developed locally.
Meanwhile, the ICT Award 2025 is underway, with the nomination process ongoing in 15 categories.
Organizers reported receiving over 700 online nominations for this year’s awards.
