KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Whip Sunita Baral has strongly objected to allegations made by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) regarding Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s recent visit to Spain.

Speaking in Parliament, Baral asserted that Parliament should not be used to spread misinformation or make baseless accusations.

Responding to claims that members of the delegation accompanying the Prime Minister did not return from Spain, Baral clarified that the Prime Minister’s visit was not just on behalf of his party but as the executive head of the nation.

She emphasized that such visits represent national dignity and should be respected as such.

“This Parliament is not a place to spread rumors, make false claims, or express opinions without patience or proper understanding,” Baral said. “One must speak responsibly, with awareness of language and its definitions.”

She challenged those repeatedly making such allegations, saying, “If you need to be taught the meaning of words, we are ready. But I challenge you to speak with awareness and responsibility.”

Baral added that if anyone demands the list of the official delegation, it can be provided with evidence. She also questioned the RSP’s discomfort with the Prime Minister’s dignified return, asking, “Why the unease when the Prime Minister returned having uplifted the nation’s pride?”

She concluded by stating that RSP’s so-called patriotism has been repeatedly contradicted by facts and events.
