Sunil Sharma urges Deuba to join NC Special Convention closing session
Sharma appealed to Deuba to leave behind internal disputes and join the closing session hall.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Sunil Sharma has urged party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to attend the closing session of the party’s second special convention in Kathmandu.
Addressing the inaugural session of the convention, Sharma appealed to Deuba to leave behind internal disputes and join the closing session hall.
He added that the session would offer the party chief nearly half a dozen options to consider.
Sharma also challenged Deuba to contest the party elections, assuring that even in defeat, he would be welcomed home with garlands.
He expressed regret that the party has failed to adopt a centrist approach despite demands from 54 percent of convention delegates.
The special convention continues amid internal disputes within the party, with the closing session scheduled to begin Monday morning at Bhrikutimandap.
