Student dispute sparks violence, protest in school

KATHMANDU: A student quarrel over Saraswati Puja contributions at Unique Academy in Inaruwa Municipality–4, Sunsari, turned violent on Tuesday, leaving several students attacked and sparking protests that briefly blocked a main highway.
The incident began when 42-year-old Armed Police Force officer Laldev Thakur, alleging that his son was assaulted, entered the school and physically attacked Grade 10 students, including Souram Mehta and Sandeep Mehta.

During the protest, Thakur’s motorcycle (Province 1-02-0049 P 5994) was set ablaze.
The unrest caused temporary road blockages and heightened tension near the police office.
Authorities have assured strict action, and traffic was restored after police intervention.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka confirmed that Thakur and four others have been taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation.
