Sri Lanka levels T20I Series against Pakistan with 14-run win

KATHMANDU: Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 14 runs in the third T20 International to level the three-match series.
Rain had reduced the match in Dambulla on Sunday to a 12-over contest per side.
Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 160 for 6, with captain Dasun Shanaka contributing 34 runs.
In a late flourish, Shanaka and Janith Liyanage added 52 runs off just 15 balls in the final over to boost the total.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Wasim Jr. claimed 3 wickets for the visitors.
Chasing 161, Pakistan got off to a strong start, with captain Salman Aqeel scoring an aggressive 45.
However, Wanindu Hasaranga turned the game in Sri Lanka’s favor, taking 4 wickets for 35 runs in his 4 overs, dismissing Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Khwaja Nafay, and Shadab Khan.
With 20 runs needed off the final over, Pakistan fell short after Fahim Ashraf was run out, finishing 14 runs behind.
The victory allowed Sri Lanka to draw the T20I series 1-1.
