Singer Rajesh Payal Rai seeks key ministerial roles in interim govt

KATHMANDU: Nepali music icon Rajesh Payal Rai has made an unexpected political demand, calling for the leadership of two key ministries — the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As President Ram Chandra Paudel steps up discussions on forming an interim government, Rai took to Facebook late Thursday night to voice his ambitions.
Addressing the #GEN_Z movement, he wrote: “Gen-Z brothers, let me take charge of the Communication and Foreign Affairs ministries. I am not asking for the post of Prime Minister, because I can contribute to communication and tourism promotion.”
Reinforcing his claim, Rai further stated: “If anyone has traveled abroad more than me, bring the proof — check my passport against yours. This is my demand. I know that tourism and music can be developed! If there is will, nothing is impossible. #genz #GenZVoices.”
