Sharma, Paudel file nomination for Congress general secretary

KATHMANDU: At the second special convention of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa has filed his nomination as the sole candidate for the party president, making his unopposed election highly likely.

The nomination process, held at Bhrikutimandap and concluded at 11 a.m., saw Bishwprakash Sharma and Pradeep Paudel filing for the position of general secretary.

For the deputy general secretary posts, Bahadur Singh Lama has submitted his nomination.

The party is set to select eight deputy general secretaries in total.

According to Sitaram KC, coordinator of the central election committee, a full list of candidates for all positions will be announced at 1 p.m.
