KATHMANDU: Nepal produced a disciplined bowling performance to bowl out Scotland for 194 runs in 39.1 overs in their ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 clash at the TU Ground in Kirtipur on Monday.

Chasing a modest target of 195, the Scotland national cricket team were led by Brendan McMullen, who top-scored with a fluent 77.

Michael Leask added a valuable half-century, while George Munsey contributed 21 and Mark Watt made 20.

However, Scotland’s batting lineup collapsed around the set players as no other batter reached double figures.

Nepal’s bowling attack delivered a clinical performance.

Lalit Rajbanshi starred with four wickets, while Sandeep Lamichhane picked up three wickets in a match-defining spell.

Nandan Yadav, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sompal Kami chipped in with one wicket each to wrap up the innings.

The match also witnessed a historic milestone as Lamichhane became the fastest bowler in ODI history to reach 150 wickets.

The leg-spinner achieved the feat in just 73 matches, surpassing Australia’s Mitchell Starc, who previously held the record at 77 matches.

With momentum on their side, the Nepal national cricket team now head into the chase of 195 with confidence.
