Salah’s injury-time goal secures Egypt 2-1 win over Zimbabwe

KATHMANDU: Mohamed Salah scored a decisive injury-time goal as Egypt came from behind to beat Zimbabwe 2-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B opener.

Zimbabwe took an early lead in the 20th minute when Prince Dube converted Emmanuel Jalloh’s cross with a precise finish.

Egypt responded in the second half, with Omar Marmoush leveling the score in the 63rd minute.

Despite several missed chances late in the game, Salah struck in the first minute of added time, controlling the ball in the box to secure a dramatic victory for the Pharaohs.
