SAFF Women’s Championship: Nepal beat Sri Lanka in semi-finals

KATHMANDU: Nepal has qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing sixth edition of the Women’s SAFF Championship football tournament.

Nepal won at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor thanks to two goals from Amisha Karki. Kumari Ghising, Saru Limbu, Amrita Jaishi, and Deepa Shahi each scored once.

Rashmi scored in the ninth minute of the game, giving Nepal an early lead. Rashmi scored from Hira’s cross with a header. Saru scored in the 11th minute of the game, giving Nepal a 2-0 lead.
When Amrita scored in the 17th minute, Nepal was leading 3-0.
Nepal took a 4-0 lead in the first half after Dipa scored in injury time.

Amisha scored in the 76th minute of the game to put Nepal up 5-0. Amisha, who made her debut against Bhutan, scored Nepal’s first goal.
Following that, in the game’s injury time, Amisha scored a personal second goal, giving Nepal a 6-0 victory. Nepal remained undefeated and advanced to the final four with this victory.

The tournament is being organized by Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Maldives.
