KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) achieved a decisive victory in Morang Constituency No. 3, as candidate Ganesh Karki comfortably defeated Nepali Congress heavyweight Sunil Sharma, securing his path to parliament.

According to the final official results, Karki received 36,924 votes, while Sharma managed 24,354 votes, giving Karki a commanding margin of 12,570 votes.

The race for third place saw a strong challenge from the Shram Sanskriti Party, whose candidate Amir Magar garnered 16,509 votes.

Karki’s win is being viewed as a significant shift in Morang’s political landscape, signaling voter support for fresh faces and new leadership over established parties. Analysts say the result reflects a strong mandate for change, confirming public confidence in RSP as a rising political force.
