RSP to launch nationwide signature campaign, announces major leadership decisions

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has concluded that its party president, Rabi Lamichhane, is facing political retaliation, prompting the party to launch a nationwide signature campaign in protest.
This decision was made during the central committee meeting held on Friday, coinciding with the third anniversary of the party’s establishment.
Making the decisions public, party spokesperson Manish Jha stated that the party has adopted a fresh organizational and political strategy.
Among key decisions, the meeting formally appointed acting General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti as the General Secretary of the party.
Burlakoti’s appointment came on the proposal of party Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle. Similarly, Manish Jha was officially appointed as the party spokesperson.

The meeting also assigned responsibilities within various departments. Deputy General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya has been appointed as the head of the Training Department, while Manish Jha will serve as the acting chief of the Campaign and Publicity Department.
Chief Whip Ravi Kiran Adhikari has been given the role of acting head of the Research and Documentation Department.
The party expressed gratitude toward its parliamentary leaders for strongly voicing RSP’s position in parliament regarding the controversial visit visa issue.
The central committee emphasized the importance of standing firm against corrupt governance and promoting civilized politics.
RSP decided to push for the suspension and investigation of MPs involved in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam and visa scandals, reaffirming its commitment to good governance and clean political conduct.
Acting party president Dol Prasad Aryal conveyed a message of thanks on behalf of President Lamichhane to all party members, supporters, and the general public.
He expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown during challenging times and urged everyone to set aside internal grievances and unite in the shared mission of national development.
