RSP to contest in Ilam-2 by-elections
The Central Committee meeting held today has decided to field candidates from Ilam-2 in the by-elections to be held on Baisakh 15 (April 27).
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to field candidates in the by-elections of Ilam-2.
The party central committee meeting held at the party headquarters Balaju on Monday decided to participate in the by-election of Ilam Constituency No. 2 to be held on the Baisakh 15 (April 27).
According to Deputy Chair DP Aryal, RSP has decided not to participate in the by-elections to be held in the State Assembly (1) of Bajhang.
However, the party general minister Dr. Mukul Dhakal informed that it was decided not to participate in the by-election of Bajhang 1 in the State Assembly.
Similarly, the meeting also decided to register the party with the Election Commission for the purpose of the by-election. The meeting has also decided to review the work of the government by discussing the work of the government every week with the deputy chairman of the party Dr Swarnim Wagle and General Minister Dhakal discussing with the ministers of the party.
General Minister Dhakal said that it has been decided to move forward by forming support teams to strengthen the party in the government, parliament and organization.
Earlier, for the preparation of the elections, the RSP had appointed joint general minister Kavindra Burlakoti.
The commission has decided to hold a by-election on Baisakh 15 (April 27) in Ilam 2, which was vacant after the death of UML MP Subas Nembang.
RSP has said that it will nominate candidates based on local needs. However, the candidate has not been decided.
