KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced that it will celebrate its third establishment day on Asar 7 (June 21) under the slogan “Abolish Lootocracy and Promote Civilized Politics through Street and Parliament.”

The decision was made during the party’s secretariat meeting held on Wednesday.

As part of the celebration, a central committee meeting will be held at the party’s central office in the morning, along with other programs outlined in a nine-point decision by the secretariat.

According to acting spokesperson Manish Jha, the meeting also held detailed discussions on the legal case against party president Rabi Lamichhane and the party’s parliamentary activities concerning the recent ‘visit visa’ controversy.

In a bid to enhance organizational structure, the meeting decided on several new appointments and reshuffles. Dr. Swarnim Wagle has been appointed head of the Policy and Ideology Department, with Santosh Pariyar as deputy. Manish Jha will lead the Campaign and Publicity Department, Rajan Gautam will head the Agriculture Department, and Ram Nyaupane has been named coordinator of the Energy and Water Resources Department.

The party has also decided to form a Coordination and Dialogue Taskforce to unify alternative political advocates, activists, and independent groups under a common platform, particularly in the current turbulent political climate.

To ensure the success of its upcoming first general convention, the RSP will launch a province-wide organizational campaign across all seven provinces.
