KATHMANDU: Shiva Nepali, Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has made a serious allegation that a powerful human trafficking network operating under the guise of visit visas is functioning with the collusion and protection of state authorities.

Speaking during Monday’s session of the House of Representatives, MP Nepali accused the government of remaining a passive bystander while a grave crime against humanity flourishes.

He questioned whether there is a possible nexus between the ruling powers and criminal groups behind this trafficking racket.

“Governments change, ministers change—but why are human traffickers always untouched? Is raising the voice of the people a crime?” Nepali questioned from the parliamentary floor, criticizing the government’s silence.

Describing human trafficking not merely as a legal offense but as a “heinous insult to humanity,” he warned that the problem is becoming increasingly severe. “Trafficking in the name of visit visas is not just a crime—it is a disgrace to humanity,” he declared. “This racket appears to be operating from within Nepal, under the state’s protection. Why are the major ruling parties silent? Is there a secret alliance between the government and the criminals?”

MP Nepali strongly urged the formation of a high-level investigation committee to uncover the full extent of the trafficking network and identify those involved.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party has consistently raised its voice in Parliament since Jestha 13, demanding action and accountability over the abuse of visit visas for trafficking purposes.
