KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Lingden has pledged to make RPP the leading political force in the upcoming elections, promising an end to corruption and the establishment of good governance.

Addressing a party unification program at the RPP office on Tuesday, Lingden emphasized that while the task may seem challenging, the consolidation of nationalist forces makes it achievable.

He highlighted the rapid expansion of party membership and asserted that the cause of monarchy, championed by RPP since the 2062 political changes, is now at its most popular stage.

“I want to witness the restoration of the monarchy and a Hindu nation during my tenure as chair,” Lingden declared, urging supporters to unite to make RPP the largest party in the next elections. He also called for the abolition of federalism and the reestablishment of the monarchy as the country’s guardian.

Former RPP chair Kamal Thapa echoed these sentiments, stating that there is no alternative to RPP in freeing the country from corrupt governance.

Speaking at the same event, Thapa criticized the current federal secular republic, claiming it as the root cause of Nepal’s political crisis.

He called for a governance system with two tiers—central and local—while maintaining a Hindu nation with full religious freedom and a constitutional monarchy.

Thapa urged voters to give RPP a majority to form a government capable of implementing these reforms.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to ending corruption, strengthening governance, and building a prosperous Nepal.

They also pledged that, if elected, RPP would work to restore the monarchy and establish Nepal as a Hindu nation.
