KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Dhawal Shumsher JB Rana has called for the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee to probe the Tinkune incident that occurred on March 28.

Speaking at the House of Representatives session on Friday, MP JB Rana accused the government of filing false cases against their party members solely because of their royalist ideology.

He expressed confidence that the judiciary will impartially deliver justice by uncovering the truth behind the incident.

“We have been charged with four false cases, including treason and organized crime, with the aim to suppress our ideology. I believe this nation’s honorable judiciary will distinguish truth from falsehood and provide fair justice,” he said.

He urged Parliament to establish a parliamentary committee to thoroughly investigate the Tinkune incident, warning that failure to investigate such events would undermine the purpose of parliamentary oversight.

He also demanded the release of all arrested leaders and activists of the royalist groups, attributing the incident to the state’s weak security apparatus.
