RPP MP demands high-level probe into visit visa misuse
Speaking at the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Singh accused ongoing illegal activities in the process of sending people abroad on visit visas.
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) MP Deepak Singh has called for the formation of a high-level commission to investigate alleged misuse of visit visas.
Speaking at the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Singh accused ongoing illegal activities in the process of sending people abroad on visit visas.
He proposed that the inquiry committee be headed by former Chief Justices Kalyan Shrestha or Sushila Karki. “If a high-level commission is not formed for this scandal, who is preventing the formation of an inquiry committee led by a former Chief Justice? Mr. Speaker, let us form a committee under the leadership of either Kalyan Shrestha or Sushila Karki. If the committee is not formed, RPP will boycott the session without taking allowances,” Singh stated.
Singh warned that RPP lawmakers would continue to boycott parliamentary sessions and forgo their allowances until a probe committee is established.
