Revolver recovered from suspect’s home in drug bust
During a follow-up investigation, police also recovered two revolvers and six rounds of ammunition from their residences.
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu police have arrested two individuals from Teku, Ward No. 12, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, in possession of a substance suspected to be brown sugar, an illegal narcotic.
19-year-old Sujan Shrestha and 21-year-old Amar Shahi were apprehended along with 920 milligrams of the substance, Rs 32,000 in cash, and five mobile phones.
During a follow-up investigation, police also recovered two revolvers and six rounds of ammunition from their residences.
According to Police Superintendent Kajikumar Acharya, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, one revolver with two rounds was found hidden behind Shahi’s house, while one revolver with four rounds was discovered at Shrestha’s home.
“Our team, along with officers from Kalimati Police Station, apprehended the suspects with the narcotics. Further investigations at their homes led to the recovery of additional firearms and ammunition,” Acharya stated.
He added that necessary further investigations into the case are ongoing.
