KATHMANDU: Renowned singer and actor Prashant Tamang has passed away at the age of 43.
He died on Sunday morning at a hospital in Delhi due to a cardiac arrest.

Born on Jan 4, 1983, in Darjeeling, West Bengal, Tamang rose to fame with his powerful vocals and humble personality, winning the hearts of audiences across India.
After his success on Indian Idol Season 3 in 2007, he pursued a career in music and film, appearing in several Nepali films and later in Indian entertainment projects, earning widespread acclaim.
Following his success in music, he ventured into acting, debuting in the 2010 film ‘Gorkha Paltan’, which was commercially successful.
He later appeared in films like ‘Angalo Yo Maya’ and ‘Pardeshi’, and his most recent film appearance was in ‘Pahichan’.
After his father’s death, Tamang took on the responsibility of supporting his family and joined the Kolkata Police as a constable.
However, he was dismissed from service in 2014 due to prolonged leave.
Following this, he focused entirely on his music and acting career, lending his voice to over 100 songs throughout his career.
