KATHMANDU: The official poster of the documentary Sanchalal: Seeds of Hope, produced under the banner of Dev D Production and directed and produced by Dipendra K.C., has been unveiled.
The newly released poster highlights both the documentary’s profound subject matter and its growing international recognition.
Designed by Royal Bhimsen in a striking black-and-white theme, the poster features Sanchalal alongside a young child in a remote rural setting, reflecting the film’s emotional and human-centered narrative.
The documentary tells the story of Sanchalal, a person with a disability living in a remote Chepang village deep within the forests of Manahari, Makwanpur.
Despite enduring poverty, isolation, and numerous hardships, Sanchalal continues to hold on to hope and resilience. The film sensitively portrays his silent courage, determination, and unwavering spirit in the face of adversity.

Director Dipendra K.C. has sought to present Sanchalal’s moving life story and the realities of marginalized communities with compassion and authenticity. Through its intimate storytelling, the documentary sheds light on social issues that often remain unseen.
Sanchalal: Seeds of Hope has already earned significant international acclaim. It won two awards at the fourth season of the 2025 Titan International Film Festival in Australia, including recognition as the festival’s Best Documentary of the Year.
The film has also been officially selected for the Bollywood and Hollywood Film Festival Australia 2026.
Dipendra K.C. and Ishwor Luintel jointly wrote the documentary, while Arjun Sapkota and Himal Sharma handled cinematography. Edited by Madan Ghimire, the film successfully brings a hidden yet powerful Nepali story to audiences on the international stage.
