KATHMANDU: Real Madrid returned to winning ways in La Liga with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Real Oviedo at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Friday night.

With FC Barcelona already confirmed as league champions, Madrid delivered a composed performance in front of their home fans, scoring once in each half.

The hosts created several early chances but were denied by Oviedo goalkeeper Aarón Escandell, who produced impressive saves to stop efforts from Franco Mastantuono and Brahim Díaz.

Madrid finally broke the deadlock just before halftime when Gonzalo García fired a low strike from outside the box to put the home side 1-0 ahead.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Madrid dominating possession and controlling the tempo.

In the 80th minute, Jude Bellingham doubled the lead after finishing a well-worked move assisted by Kylian Mbappé.

The victory helped Real Madrid bounce back from their previous defeat and regain momentum heading into the final two rounds of the La Liga season.
