KATHMANDU: Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a commanding performance to defeat Chennai Super Kings by 43 runs, maintaining their strong momentum in the Indian Premier League 2026 season.

Playing at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru posted a formidable 250 for 3 after being put in to bat.

Tim David led the charge with an unbeaten 70, while Devdutt Padikkal struck a fluent 50. Captain Rajat Patidar remained unbeaten on 48, anchoring the innings alongside David.

Padikkal’s half-century came off just 29 balls, setting the tone early. Phil Salt added a brisk 46, while Virat Kohli chipped in with 28.

The late surge proved decisive, as David and Patidar combined for an unbroken 99-run partnership off just 35 balls for the fourth wicket.

Chennai’s bowlers struggled to contain the scoring, with Shivam Dube and Jamie Overton picking up a wicket each.

In reply, chasing a daunting 251, Chennai suffered an early collapse, losing three wickets within the first three overs.

Despite efforts from Sarfaraz Khan, who scored 50, and Prashant Veer with 43, they were bowled out for 207.

Bengaluru’s bowling attack was led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who claimed three wickets, while Abhinandan Singh took two.
