KATHMANDU: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) produced a stunning run chase to defeat Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday.

Playing at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB successfully chased a daunting target of 206, reaching 206/5 in 18.5 overs.

Earlier, Gujarat Titans posted a strong 205/3 in 20 overs, powered by a brilliant century from Sai Sudharsan, who smashed 100 off 58 balls with 10 fours and multiple sixes.

Captain Shubman Gill added 32, while Jos Buttler contributed 25. Washington Sundar (19*) and Jason Holder (23*) provided a late boost.

For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Suyash Sharma picked up one wicket each.

In response, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal led the charge with outstanding half-centuries.

Kohli scored a fluent 81 off 44 balls, hitting eight fours and four sixes, while Padikkal blasted 55 off just 27 balls, including six sixes and two fours.

The duo stitched a match-defining 115-run partnership for the second wicket in just 9.5 overs, putting RCB firmly in control.

Tim David (10) and Krunal Pandya (23*) then ensured a comfortable finish.

For Gujarat, Rashid Khan took two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj, Holder, and Manav Suthar claimed one each.

With this victory, RCB climbed to second place on the points table with 10 points, while Gujarat Titans remained in seventh position.
