KATHMANDU: Janamat Party Chair Dr. Chandrakanta Raut has called for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.

Speaking to reporters after a discussion with the government’s Political Dialogue Committee at the party office, Raut said the party views the government’s move positively and has been committed to participating in the elections from the start.

He emphasized that the essence of the Gen Z movement must be respected and a new mandate should be sought.

Raut also stressed that the government should create conditions capable of addressing not only the issue of absconding prisoners and untraced weapons but also the broader unrest in society.

“We welcome the government’s initiative. We have decided from the beginning to take part in the elections. The elections must be held on Falgun 21. The spirit of the movement must be honored, and a fresh mandate is necessary. We have discussed with the government not only about absconding prisoners and missing weapons but also about tackling the state of unrest in society,” he said, adding that the party has also raised security concerns with the government for the elections.
