Ramechhap bus accident: 10 dead, 8 injured (update)
Bus fell about 100 meters into the Tamakoshi River.
KATHMANDU: Ten people have died and eight others, including the driver, were injured when an Araniko Yatayat bus fell approximately 100 meters into the Tamakoshi River near Masantar, Manthali Municipality-6, Ramechhap.
The bus, bearing registration Province 01–01–00–5 Kha 9975, was traveling from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga at the time of the accident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Thapa, assistant spokesperson for the Armed Police Force (APF), said a joint rescue team comprising the APF, Nepal Police, and disaster management personnel, including 10 divers from APF’s Khurkot base in Sindhuli, were immediately deployed.
The rescued passengers have been taken to various hospitals for treatment, according to Bhola Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Ramechhap.
