KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has not been denied any facilities provided to other inmates, officials clarified.
Speaking at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Law, Justice, and Human Rights on Wednesday, authorities confirmed that Lamichhane, currently held at Rupandehi District Jail, is receiving standard inmate facilities.
He has been accommodated in a separate room, and jail administration routinely checks if he faces any issues, they added.
Officials emphasized that no special privileges have been granted, nor has he been deprived of basic prison amenities.
They also stated that plans to transfer Lamichhane to another facility are being considered, with security concerns guiding the decision.
